I would not, could not, in a box ...

Updated: Jun 9, 2020

In our over-zealous packing, there was something we forgot to consider.

Kitchen Tile Project
Thank you for helping us with the tile in our kitchen!

THANK YOU so much to all of our friends who came over to help paint, install tile, and get things ready to sell our home! Thank you to all of you who are praying for and supporting us in our mission to serve the children of Cebu. You are an absolute God-send and we could not, would not do this without you ...

Which brings me to the title of this post. Heather and the kids have been packing, cleaning, selling, and storing things with every free moment they have. Clothes that we're going to bring with us on the plane are already in their luggage boxes. We've even been able to sell large furniture like dressers and wardrobes; one of our kids decided to go ahead and sell their bed frame! All of this, to us, is just further proof of the Lord leading and guiding us along this path of serving at CSC. Things we didn't expect to be sell-able are being sold and for much more than we were expecting! Again, thank you for praying with us in this time of transition. Heather and the kids have been absolute troopers and I am blessed and encouraged by their excitement.

Girls' Bedroom
Our daughters' bedroom with one bed frame missing.

However, one thing we hadn't fully thought through :) ... it's not super fun to have everything you need packed in a box already ... haha. I say this mostly in fun and hope this doesn't sound like a complaint. A missionary that we met with warned us that one of the hardest things for he and his family to deal with was living out of suitcases. Boy was he right!

Of course, "... this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison" (2 Cor 4:17) ... it has certainly prepared us for the temporal weight of checked luggage (50 lbs!).

Let me just say one more time to all of you: THANK YOU from the bottom of our hearts. The tasks of getting the home ready and the logistics of packing things seemed overwhelming. By God's grace, all of it is getting done in His good time.

PRAYER REQUESTS

• Please pray that our realtor feels the work we've done is sufficient and that the Home Sale Inspection goes off without a hitch.

• Please continue praying for the church as it transitions to new leadership.

• Please pray for upcoming events where we'll be able to share with others about the blessed ministry at CSC.
